Welcome

to Stitch and Frame

We have been offering a bespoke picture framing service (including the lacing and framing of cross stitch and embroidery) to our customers for over 20 years, and over that time have grown in our expertise of conservation and presentation of needlework.

Framing your cross stitch or embroidery will complete the preservation of the needlework and protect it for years to come.

Derwent Gallery

From our gallery near Bakewell in the Derbyshire Peak District we have framed many precious and unusual antique pieces, heirlooms worked by diligent hands from the past, and we are aware that your own work, once framed, may well become a treasured antique of the future.

We can give you an estimate by phone or email, based on your measurements, where we may discuss the colour of the mount and style of frame for each individual piece before posting it to me at the gallery.

Lacing and framing of cross stitch and embroidery

Your needlework will be carefully handled and laced over an archival foam centred board to ensure an even tension across the piece then mounted and framed behind glass using conservation grade materials where possible.

When your work arrives and is accurately measured we will contact you by phone or email to discuss your options and let you know the cost, including delivery. We can email photographs with examples for you to choose from.

Once completed your framed work will be carefully packed and sent out to you, ready to hang with picture cord and wall hooks.

Call us during opening hours to discuss your options, or if you are in the area visit us at the gallery.
